What happens when you mix a Robert Trent Jones design, immaculate
grounds keeping, an upscale neighborhood, and accolades from national
publications? The epitome of golf snobbery? Not at Celebration. Maybe
it’s the name. Maybe it’s the fact that Disney once owned
the entire town. Whatever it is, it works. Celebration offers a tremendous
golf experience from the courteous, competent staff to the challenging,
fun golf. Winner of a multiple awards, Celebration has also played
host to a variety of tournaments including LPGA, USGA Senior, and
Florida amateur event and is the home of the Buick Scramble National
Championships.
The Jones Sr.-Jr. tandem really takes advantage of Florida’s
natural environment with a layout that flows through natural wetlands
and among native oak, pine, and magnolia. The course features four
sets of tees (plus a junior tee) that offer a good challenge for
all skill levels. The design demands good shot making and solid putting
to score well. Yet to all this, add a bit of fun. Celebration sports
a unique aqua driving range, and it’s large, prairie-style
clubhouse surprises with a big retail area and deluxe locker rooms.
